TRAINING PROGRAM

Our intensive training program offers volunteers a balance of pertinent topics including advanced communication skills in a variety of modes, and small group exercises facilitated by our Training Coordinator and Volunteer Mentors.

REGISTRATION

Registration for the training program is limited to persons intending to become ContactLifeline volunteers. Acceptance of registration does not ensure acceptance for telephone duty on the helpline. The minimum age is 18 years old.

ATTENDANCE

Due to the balanced instructional and skill building nature of the training classes, trainees may not miss more than two sessions.

APPRENTICE TRAINING

In addition to the training classes, each trainee is required to complete apprenticeship shifts on the helpline. Apprenticeship training is scheduled by trainees during the later part of the training program.
